About our Appointments System

  • Your call will be answered by one of our trained care navigators. They will ask you for a brief description of your problem.
  • Please give as much information as possible. Most patients do.
  • Our clinical team needs these details to assess who they need to urgently see first. This is known as triage. This information also helps us direct you to the right clinician or service.
  • If you have an urgent medical issue, please ring from 8am to book a telephone consultation with a GP for the same day.
  • Most things can be safely handled over the telephone, but we shall invite you into the practice for a face to face appointment if needed.
  • If you need to see the nurse or book a follow-up or non-urgent appointment, the care navigator can book you one. These are telephone or face to face appointments depending on your need.
  • Please make sure we have your up to date telephone number and keep it with you at all times when you are expecting a call from us.

If we have no more appointments available on the day you call and you need to be seen urgently, we shall always signpost you to other services in the community who can help.

Cancel an Appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment or no longer need it, please let us know as soon as possible by calling 0161 766 8221. This means we can offer the appointment to another patient and keep waiting times low.

As part of our commitment to all patients, we monitor the efficient use of appointments. If a patient regularly fails to attend a booked appointment without cause or letting us know, the practice reserves the right to remove them from the practice list.
